CFS Member Showcase

We will be singing this Friday at the Charlotte Folk Society Member Showcase.  Please arrive by 6:45 so we are ready to sing at 7.  Click here for details about the show.

April and May practices

We will practice at Sharon Presbyterian Church, (5201 Sharon Road, 28210)  for April and May.  We will be in the chapel which is to the right side of the campus if you are looking at the church from Sharon Road.  Click here for the map and directions on their website.

March practices at HCUCC Sharon

We are trying out a new practice location in March at Holy Covenant Sharon.  The address is 6151 Sharon Road, Charlotte, 28210.  Note that the sign in front says Pilgrim Congregational.

This is the revised song list for Presbyterian Hospital (map) on Valentine's Day.  I removed a few songs and alphabetized them.  I will make up some booklets with just these songs so you don't have to carry your heavy binders and search for page numbers as we sing our way through the floors.  We will gather at 6:45 and begin at 7.  Meet at the main entrance where the piano is.  This is where you come in if you park in the parking deck on Hawthorne Lane.

Galway Bay parts

"Galway Bay" is a challenging piece, but it will be well worth the effort when we have learned it.  Thank you to David for making these recordings that "sing" the words...very cool.  It is helpful to have your music with you when you listen so you can follow your part.  If you prefer hearing the parts with a piano voice, click here or scroll down to the post that says "midi files of Galway Bay" where you will find the recording Laura did last October.  Again, thanks to Laura and David for making these recordings.  It is very tedious work keying in all of that music.
